Albertos has been serving traditional Mexican food in Northern Idaho for the past 17 years. Albertos has been featured in publications such as, Gourmet Magazine, "Eat Your Way Across The USA," Idaho Moon Guide and travelogues about Idaho. I has won Idaho's "Excellence in Food Service and Food Handling" award. It was featured on NPR's "Splendid Table" Radio Program by Jane and Michael Stern. |
![]() Connie and Alberto Mier y Teran came to America in 1988 from Mexico City. When they moved to Idaho they decided to open this restaurant featuring traditional Mexican cooking. Connie continues to operate the business today in addition to instructing Spanish at a local school. Inside the Log Cabin you'll find the heavy-timbered dining room gaily decorated with folk art, ceramics and a beautiful pinata hanging high in the rafters. Connie's own original paintings decorate the walls. It's an informal museum to Mexican culture. There's even an outdoor patio dining area for use during the summer season. Connie's warm and friendly personality makes her diners feel right at home while they experience her Mexican atmosphere and good eating. |
![]() Darrah Rhoads, is a native of the Bonners Ferry area. He has been cooking at Alberto's since it opened. Together with Connie, He knows how to serve up traditional Mexican food from fresh ingredients. Only high quality beef is used in the dishes along with their own home-made red and green chili sauces that add an extra spark to their home made tortillas. They go out of their way to avoid preservatives. and grow their own herbs on the premises. |

![]() The star of our menu is the Azteca—corn tortillas layered with chicken and cheese and blended with a dark poblano molé redolent of herbs and Mexican chocolate, rich with almonds, peanuts and spiced with seven different chilies. Tostadas are served with shredded beef so succulent it seems to melt on the tongue. All dishes are accompanied by traditional beans and flavorful rice. You'll have the choice of home-made Mexican style soup or a green salad. |
